Fistula in Ano is an abnormal/unnatural connection between the end of the bowel and the skin near the anus. The anal fistula is rather also a communication of an abscess cavity with an internal opening within the anal canal.
Causes:
Anal fistula is a rare condition. It is mostly developed after an anal abscess is not healed properly and mostly associated with the anal abscess. About 30% to 40% of anal fistulas develop from anal abscesses.

Signs and symptoms of Anal fistula are
- There is a dull heavy pain most of the times, which gets worsened on making specific movements or while sitting.
- Constitutionally , the person feels weak, irritated and desperate.
- Swelling of the part affected .
- Discharge of blood or pus from the anus.
- Fever, if fistula is associated with an abscess.
- Irritation of skin around the anus
